Terms of Use

1. Accepting these terms

By accessing or using Eventinel, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Eventinel. Questions may be sent to eventsentinel@gmail.com.

2. Awareness service, not verified emergency information

Eventinel helps people view and share public incident information. Reports may be late, incomplete, inaccurate, duplicated, misleading, or unavailable. Source labels and moderation signals provide context; they are not a guarantee that a report is true. You are responsible for using judgment and checking authoritative sources.

3. Your account and signing keys

You are responsible for protecting the keys, devices, signers, and sessions used with your Nostr public key. Actions signed by your key may be treated as authorized by you. Eventinel cannot recover a lost private key or reverse a signed event distributed by independent relays.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of content you create. You grant Eventinel and the decentralized services you choose a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, cache, reproduce, transmit, display, and moderate that content as needed to operate Eventinel and the Nostr or Blossom protocols. This license continues for copies that remain on independent services after you stop using Eventinel.

You must have the rights and permissions needed to publish your content, including media and location information. Avoid exposing victims, minors, private residences, medical information, or other sensitive details when they are not necessary for public awareness.

5. Prohibited use

You may not use Eventinel to:

• submit knowingly false emergency or incident reports;
• harass, threaten, stalk, dox, exploit, or impersonate another person;
• publish unlawful sexual content, child sexual abuse material, or non-consensual media;
• incite violence or share graphic content without a legitimate awareness purpose;
• violate privacy, intellectual-property, or other legal rights;
• bypass moderation, authentication, rate limits, or service security; or
• interfere with the app, its users, relays, media hosts, or production services.

6. Moderation and private reports

Eventinel may hide, quarantine, label, limit, or refuse content under its safety policies. A private report hides media for the reporter and may be reviewed by an authorized human reviewer. A moderation decision does not create a promise that all harmful or unlawful content will be found or removed from independent relays or media servers.

7. Third-party and decentralized services

Eventinel connects to services such as Nostr relays, Blossom media servers, maps, notification providers, device signers, and directions apps. Those services are operated under separate terms and may change, reject, retain, or redistribute data independently. Eventinel is not responsible for an independent service's availability or conduct.

8. Availability and product changes

Eventinel may change, suspend, or stop features to maintain safety, security, legal compliance, or reliability. Development-only diagnostics and experimental wallet features are not part of the production service and are not promised by these terms.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Eventinel is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, continuous availability, or emergency response. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Eventinel and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or reliance on Eventinel. Rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.

10. Ending use and changes to these terms

You may stop using Eventinel at any time. Eventinel may restrict access to operated services when necessary to address abuse or security risk; public protocol data may remain available elsewhere. We may update these terms, with the effective date above identifying the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms where permitted by law.
